Research has shown that goal setting greatly increases a persons chances of success and when we set goals for ourselves it actually changes our behaviour and our mindset. In psychological terms this is called the "endowment effect", which happens when we take ownership of something as it becomes ours. , there is something incredibly motivating about setting a goal and working towards it. Why not set yourself a challenge and take part in a sporting event. You could consider raising money for a worthwhile charity such as the British Heart Foundation, Help for Heroes or Mind or perhaps one of your own.
