Hi, my name is Ian Woolcott; I am a former gymnast who once competed at National level and in more recent years a kick-boxer competing at club level so I have always been passionate about health and fitness. Being an athlete I quickly realised just how important a balanced diet was to ensure that I maintained peak physical fitness but I didn't really understand to what extent food actually affected me. It was for this reason that I studied for a BSc (Honours) in sports psychology and health science and it turns out that our diet is responsible for so much more than I had ever imagined. I found that the food we eat in the morning, our lunch or even our evening meals not only impacts our strength, performance and recovery but also significantly affects our long-term health and even our emotions. One thing is for sure, no matter whether you are trying to build muscle or lose weight understanding nutrition is the key to success. However, as a former professional sportsman I know only too well from experience just how frustrating the whole fitness trail can be and so for this reason I created Taste Fitness. My aim is to provide others with a trusted source of nutritional information, protein packed fitness recipes, high quality sports supplements and the latest cutting edge fitness equipment to help you reach your fitness goals.
I firmly believe that sport should be something that can be enjoyed by everyone, unfortunately there are those of us who are sadly not blessed with good health or are less able to participate in sport through illness or injury.
